Play Date Cafe #115

I hope everybody's Monday wasn't too crazy. I managed to make this card rather quickly to submit for this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge.  I tried my best to come close to the colors. I was inspired by Michelle's card.

Slate...Moss...Bark...Burlap

I do not have any slate ink or paper (sniff, sniff ). My smokey shadow paper was just too dark in my opinion. I used Ripe Avacado and Dark Chocolate for the Moss and Bark. I kept my card base in Rustic Cream and used my Antique Linen distress ink for the background. Thanks for looking!

  1. This is very pretty. You did a great job coming up with the right colors. Sometimes, I wonder where they come up with these color names. Wouldn't you love a color challenge with PTI colors!

  4. Okay. I'm commenting from my Kindle Fire and my chubby fingers are totally making this hard. Plus the auto correct has the tendency to change my words..... Sorry I had to delete my previous comment. What I said was, I can see a "green" person totally loving this card! Very nice work!

  5. This would make a great masculine card. The subtle newsprint in the background is great.

  6. Deb, I like the simpleness of your creation. The subtle newsprint in the background was a great touch. :)

Even though you don't have slate paper or ink, it's ok! You can look to other embellishments that can 'fit the bill', like packaging that comes with stickers (or anything else, really), or grey pearls, or a bit of gray twine, or even dye a bit of bakery twine with black ink. It would wind up a shade of gray!

Thanks a bunch for playing with us at The Play Date Cafe this week!
