CAS-ual Fridays, Gift Tags

TGIF! Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, Christmas preparations are in full gear. For some reason, I always seem to have my cards and tags ready before the gifts. Oh well.

Today's challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays is to create a clean and simple gift tag. It doesn't necessarily need to be for the holidays, but this challenge certainly has helped me get ahead of the game.

Our sponsor this week is Bossy Joscie. Check out these neat handmade items.

For my tags, I inked up the holly images from Merry Kiss-mas and the sentiment from Snowflake Greetings. I colored the holly and berries with my copics and I actually colored on colored cardstock! Now I realize that Soft Stone is not too far off from white, but I am slowly stepping out of my comfort zone.

PTI November blog hop

Hello! I hope all of my American friends enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday. And for those not from the states, I hope you had a fabulous weekend. Today I have a card to share with you for Papertrey Ink's November blog hop.

The challenge is to create a project inspired by Nichole's favorite book covers or one of your own. I chose the book cover in the top left. I was inspired by the text as the focal point and I also incorported a few of the colors. I inked up Fresh Alphabet in Smokey Shadow and the mini heart from Heart Prints in Raspberry Fizz. Super CAS. I didn't have the chance to create my card until this morning and then I wasn't  feeling super crafty. Sigh. My second attempt at my card since I wasn't too pleased with the first. Sigh. Blogger woes. Sigh. So I am happy to have any card created and uploaded. I hope you are inspired along the hop! Thanks for stopping by!

10 Minute Craft Dash meets DeNami Design

Happy Wednesday friends! Today DeNami Design is sponsoring the 10 Minute Craft Dash.

These are the fabulous colors to work with to create your card in 10 minutes or less.

I must confess, that this is my first attempt at this challenge. I am such a slow crafter which is the reason why I have yet to participate. But I am so thrilled with the results. As soon as I saw the colors, I knew exactly what stamps I would use. Since I already had a bunch of supplies on my craft table, I was able to quickly decide what  design I would use for my stamps and went to work. I finished my card in 9 minutes and 5 seconds! A first for me.

For my card I inked up Baby Jesus in Kraft ink and then stamped Rejoice in Enchanted Evening ink. I layered my two panels and finished it off with a bow. Can you believe that I even challenged myself to include a bow? Thanks for stopping by. I can't wait to see what you create.

CAS-ual Fridays, Winter Blues

Happy Friday! It's been a super busy week at the CAS-ual Fridays blog. If you have had the chance to stop by, then you have seen the fabulous peeks created by the Girl Fridays. Now you have a chance to see the entire release in the store and be the first to snatch them up.

The challenge for this week is to create a clean and simple project using blue. A perfect challenge to get a jump start on those holiday cards. I love the challenges in blogland this time of year.

I used sentiments from Snowflake Greetings to create my card. You might recogize this card design from a previous card. I love laying out sentiments to create the word art that has been so popular recently. The sentiments that Michele has created for her sets really build upon each other. I finished it off with a bit of bling.

I hope you get the chance to pick up some of these sets. They really are fantastic! Don't forget that you have until noon on Thursday to link up and play over at CAS-ual Fridays!

CAS-ual Fridays, Torn

TGIF!!! I have never been happier that Friday is here. Since my last post I had mentioned that I was coming down with a nasty virus. Well, it has outstayed it's welcome. Actually, I don't think it was ever welcomed. I have managed to make it through work this week. My manager let me go early every day this week when she could allow it. Now I have my fingers crossed for a little rest this weekend.

Today's card that I have to share is for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge. Create a project with something torn. Our fabulous sponsor is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.

I created my card using some torn patterned paper from Lawn Fawn and inked up this gorgeous mistletoe image. L-O-V-E IT!!! There's more where that came from. Stay tuned to the CAS-ual Fridays Store blog for more info. I colored it with my copics and added some stickles to finish it off.

That's all for now. I hope to get crafty when I am feeling better and a bit more inspired. Don't forget that you have until on Thursday to link up and play!

DeNami sketch challenge

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous and relaxing weekend. I am still getting over a nasty virus.  I can hardly utter a word as I have no voice. Good thing blogging is about typing, right? Today I am sharing a card for DeNami Design's sketch challenge. This one was created by the talented Dana. Love this!

For my card I used Solid Block Border. I inked it up in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple and then cut the panel in half. I used Thinking of You for my sentiment. The cardbase was impressed with Papertrey Ink's Linen/Canvas impression plate.

Head on over the the blog to see some more fabulous creations by the design team. Can't wait to se what you create for the challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

CASology Cue Card, Sugar

Pretty boring post title, but I am very under the weather, so it will suffice. Despite the cold bug rearing it's ugly head yesterday, my daughter and I managed to each create a card this morning. We had gone out to dinner last night and the restaurant is also located next to my local Michaels. Well, I had run out of my scrapbooking tape, so my daughter and I ran into Michaels to pick up some more.

Every time we go, she insists on getting something she needs wants. If we find something for $1, then that is fine with me. With all of the Halloween stuff marked down to 70% off, that was our first stop. We managed to find some K & Company embellies that had candy images for $0.99! So I asked her if I could borrow one for a card. She obliged and then decided she wanted to make one too. I reminded her to keep her card simple since that is the challenge. Kind of hard for a 5 year old, but I think she did a pretty good job.

Here is her card. She used a sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays, Woot woot!

I did some selective stamping to create my sentiment from two different PTI stamps. I also added some Martha Stewart coarse glitter using a 2 way glue pen to add some "sugar" to my card.

Head on over to the CASology blog to see more fabulous creations by the design team and the gallery! Thanks for stopping by!

CAS-ual Fridays: Snips, snails and puppy dog tails

Happy Friday everyone! I cannot believe that November is already here. It seems like the school year just started, but Christmas seems way too close. We've seen the decor in craft stores, right? I've got my fingers crossed that I will get ahead in the game with shopping and crafting this year.

Today I have a card to share with you for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge. Create a clean and simple card for a boy. This week's sponsor is SimonSaysStamp. This week's winner will not only win a $25 gift certificate, but will also earn the spot as next month's guest designer.

For my card, I used Papertrey Ink's Soft Stone cardstock. You may have noticed it in the last several cards I have created. I think it is slowly becoming my new white. I used their guitar stamp and die from Boy Basics: Rock On. I also used some washi tape that I picked up from Target. I may be the last one on the washi bandwagon. I bought my first roll almost 2 years ago, but never bought any more. I am glad that I finally did. The sentiments are from CAS-ual Fridays: Woot, woot!

Thanks for stopping by! Remember you have until noon on Thursday to link up and play!
