Happy Birthday

Happy Monday! Lucky for me, I had today off from work. That meant doing something I haven't done in nearly 2 decades...I went running! Actually, there was more walking than running, but that is the plan when you start a workout routine. I certainly did not want to overdo it, since I don't want be too sore tomorrow. So excited about this new adventure in my life.

 

 Onto today's card. It plays along with the current CAS(E) this Sketch! and CAS on Sunday challenge: to make a celebration card using sequins.

 

 

 

 For my card I inked up Tiny Tags II by PTI. I used some Buttercup twine from The Twinery to hang them using glue dots. The die cut tag behind them is Tag Sale #5, also from PTI. My sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays, Casual Elegance. And lastly, I sprinkled some Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish off the card.

 

 

That is all for me today. Work beckons me the rest of the week and now my new workout routine does too. I still hope to find some time to get crafty. Halloween is around the corner and I've got some costumes and treats to make.

CAS on Sunday, One Layer and personal update

Hello friends! I am popping in today with card to share with you for CAS on Sunday The challenge is to create a one layer card,

 

For my card, I used my new Altenew stamps. I did some ombre stamping to create a baby shower card for a friend of mine.

 

 

And for those of you that know about my heart palpitations, I saw my primary care physician and cardiologist this week. I have some tests ordered but they aren't until about 2 weeks. I still have been experiencing the palpitations despite a drastic decrease in caffeine. The cardiologist didn't seem too concerned, but that doesn't take away the pounding in my chest. It stinks to be sitting at a computer and your heart feels like it just ran 3 miles. She was concerned that I have been having a higher pulse rate. I guess the tests will tell.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends! Boring title. I know. But...

 

...things have not been boring around here. Yesterday I had to leave work around lunch time to go to the ER for palpitations. Ugh! That's right. For no reason at all my heart rate was elevated, I was short of breath and having extra beats. One of the doctors that I work with recommended I go to the ER because she was concerned for me. Fortunately after a couple of hours, they gave me the option to spend the night or go home. Um, I will take my comfy bed, thank you. So by this morning, all of my symptoms have gone away and I am taking it easy. Thankfully I already had today off. So what better way to relax than head to my craftroom. 

 

Leah and I spent some time crafty time together which I love so much. She made a card completely out of washi tape. Yep, totally her idea. I created this card for a sweet little girl that will turn 3 years old just one day after my Joshua.

 

 

This card plays along with three challenges: CAS-ual Fridays, CAS on Sunday and Curtain Call Challenge. My first intention was to use small heart circle from DeNami Design for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge: use hearts in a summer palette. So when I saw the gorgeous photo over at Curtain Call, I knew exactly what colors to choose. The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays: CAS-ual Elegance.  And lastly, the challenge over at CAS on Sunday is to create a birthday card. I can't remember the last time I created one card to play along with 3 challenges.
