DeNami Design, Celebrate

Hello friends! Today I have two cards over at the DeNami Design blog. Here is a sneak peek at one of them. I created this card for my darling new niece, Havalah, or Havi, for short.

My twin sister and her family recently went to China for a few weeks and returned at the end of June with this darling little peanut. You can head over to her blog Life with 2 dumplings to read more. Yes, she knows she needs to change the name of her blog. In due time.

Here is my sister (blinking) with her 3 dumplings. You can just make out Havi's head over the suitcase.

Everyone is pretty smitten with her. Here is my father-in-law with her. We met them at the airport to greet them and bring them their van so they could drive home. However, their flight arrived early and, as my sister mentioned in her post, we arrived in paparazzi fashion and I started clicking away.

My sister lives in a cul-de-sac and her neighbors were ready with yummy treats as soon as they arrived. My daughter, Leah, is holding up the sign I made to welcome her home. Nothing fancy.

Here is my nephew, Caleb, with her. She is 4 months younger than my son. So he is no longer the baby in the family.

Welcome to the family, Havi. We love you!!!

DeNami Design, Product spotlight Sand Castle

Today is product spotlight over at DeNami Design. The design team is showcasing Sand Castle by having a DeNami blog hop. You should've arrived to my blog from Lisa Petrella's blog. If you visit each design team members blog and leave a comment along the way, you will be eligible to win this stamp! You can also add this fabulous stamp to your shopping cart and save 10%, one week only.

Since I do not consider myself an expert at using my copics (oh, how I would love to take a class), I decided that I would let this awesome stamp speak for itself. I inked it up using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and colored in the little flags on top with my copics. The sentiment is Sending You Sunshine inked up with the same color ink.

I die cut a circle using my circle nestie so that the stamp Sand Castle would show through the card front. On the inside, I added some Seashells that I also colored to add a bit of sunshine to my card. I love the added surprise inside when you open up the card.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment on each blog to be eligible to win!

Wendy is your next stop!

CAS-ual Fridays, Count Me In

Happy Friday, friends! I am popping in to share a card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge. The challenge this week is to create a clean and simple project using numbers.

Our fabulous sponsor this week is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. The winner of this week's challenge will get to chose a stamp set of their choice.

For my card, I was inspired by the awnings from the Carrabbas restaurant that I drive by everyday. I love the clean and simple lines, so this card came together pretty quickly. The card base was inpressed with my Linen/canvas impression plate from PTI. The angled border is PTI, also. The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays, Bold Wishes.

That's it for me today. This challenge is a two week challenge, so you have until noon on Thursday, August 1st to link up and play along. I can't wait to see what you create!

Double layer twirl skirt

Every little girl loves to twirl around in a skirt. My little one is no different. Let's see, I think I purchased this pattern about 1 1/2 ago, cut it out, but never had the chance to make it. Well, I finally made the time. I made her fun skirt using McCalls M6066. Of course, I am kicking myself since I only bought size 3-6 and she turns 6 in August. But, since she is on the shorter side, I went ahead and made the size 6 so that she could wear it this summer and next, so not all is lost.

The fabrics I used I managed to pick up at my local sewing studio using 40% off coupons. Call me stingy, but when a pattern calls for a ton of fabric and I am using designer fabric, I will patiently wait for my emailed coupons.

The fabrics I used were Madrona Road- Wild Carrot in Straw and Mod Prints- Lil Plain Jane in Gray. I made my own bias tape per the instructions. Don't judge me too harshly.*wink* The pattern is fairly simple. Since I had never made a skirt with a drop waistband, I had to call on my sister for help. Thanks Eva!

So here is my little girl. When you ask an almost 6 year old to pose, you can get some pretty interesting shots. Ha! And I know she desperately needs a hair cut. That is happening today. Yay!

Here are some details.

Here is my little ham. If you look closely, you can see the ran falling off of our neighbor's roof. Yes, it had started to rain, but it didn't stop me from snapping some pics of her.

Winding up to twirl...

And one final shot.

That's all for me. Thanks for stopping by!

DeNami Design Summer Splash Blog hop

Welcome to the DeNami Design Summer Splash blog hop. I hope you have been enjoying the fabulous DeNami inspiration. You should've arrive here from Katie Brook's blog If not, you can always head back to the  beginning for a full list of participants.

When I started to create my card for the blog hop, I knew that I wanted to use my Surf Board Trio stamp. I was inspired by previous DT member, Kanani, and this card. I colored a few of the surf boards with my copics, cut them out and attached them with foam adhesive. The card base was impressed with my Sunshine impression plate. I added my sentiment Sending You Sunshine onto a piece of cardstock which I adhered to the card front.

The next stop along the hop is my daughter, Leah, who will be turning 6 in August. She really could not wait to create her summer inspired card. She loves the Sand Castle  stamp and could not wait to ink it up with Hula chickie and Surfer chickie. She added Seashells and her sentiment Sending You Smiles Across the Miles. She colored everything in using some of her and my color pencils. She added in the blue wavy lines to represent the ocean waves. This card was created 100% by her. She refused any input from me. Gotta love that!

Your next stop along the hop is the talented, Amy Smidebush. She is always so clever and creative. I can't  wait to see what she has created.

Don't forget about the THREE gift certificates that will be given away! One gift certificate will go to a random participant and TWO gift certificates to TWO people who comment along the hop! You have until July 15, 2013 11:59pm PST to comment and be eligible.

Happy hopping!

CAS-ual Fridays, Polka Dots

Happy Friday friends! I hope you had a good week. Today I am popping in to share a card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge. This week, you are to create a clean and simple project that showcases polka dots.

The sponsor this week is SimonSaysStamp. The winner of this week's challenge will win a $25 gift certificate.

First, I must say that this challenge brings back some wonderful memories for me. Last year's sponsor for this challenge was DeNami Design. I created  this card which caught Paulina's eye and then I was asked to join the design team. I was so honored and it has been an amazing year designing with them. Anywho, back to today's card.

A couple of weeks ago, I shared a card that was inspired by the awesome Maile Belles. Today, I have another. When I saw this card (second from the top), I had to give it a try. I didn't attempt the embossing because what I wanted to replicate was the design. I used some PTI Aqua Mist patterned paper for my polka dots. The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays, Exclamations.  You have until noon on Thursday to link up and play.

Tomorrow marks a big day for my little guy. He turns 2 years old. I can't believe how time has flown by!

DeNami Design sneak peeks, Create Your Own

Hello friends! Today is the last day of the DeNami Design new release
sneak peeks. Today Tammy and I are showcasing this unique set called Create Your Own. It is unique because this set contains several faces, hairstyles and accessories to create images specific to your crafting needs. With a bit of masking, the possibilities are endless!

For my release projects, I created several holiday themed projects.

I must confess that my first project is my favorite. I created a Valentine's Day card. I used the new Faces (cling), Hairstyle (cling) and petitte fours Friendly Faces. I used the two images that resemble me and my hubby. For the sentiment, I used Rectangle Word Bubble, Love You Forever, and Mini Heart which I stamped on Red cardstock and cut out. I also cut out the bubble and attached it using foam adhesive. I added some Red/white Heart, Red Chevron, and Heart Cloud washi tape. I finished it off with an Aqua boutique button and Red twine.

For my next project, I created personal gift tags for the Christmas holiday. I used the same images from above to respresent my hubby and me. For the other two, I created images that represent my daughter and son. Now how perfect is that?! On the die cut tags, I added some more Red Chevron and Green graph washi tape. I selectively stamped the sentiment from To From. The tags were finished off with some Red, Lime, and Emerald ribbon. Just like my above project, I chose not to color in any of the images to keep with the holiday colors.

For my last project, I used the new Faces(cling) and Trick or Treat (cling). I selectively inked up some eyes from Friendly Faces and stamped it all onto some Leaf Green cardstock. I colored in the hair with my black copic and then I hand drew some fingers and cut them out to make my monster appear like he was peeking over a wall. I layered it over some Amethyst cardstock that was stamped with Teeny Star Background. Then I stamped Trick or Treat (cling) onto some Lime cardstock. Lastly, I added some Black cardstock that was die cut with my pinking circle and adhered it to the cardfront with foam adhesive which was impressed with my woodgrain impression plate.

I hope you have enjoyed all of the projects that you have seen from the design team. If you haven't left a comment on each of their blogs, there is still time. By leaving comments on each designer's blog, you become eligible to win a $30 gift certificate. There will be two winners selected from each day. Gotta love that!

So if there are some older products that you have been wanting, fill up your cart tonight. The release goes live tomorrow, so you will only have to add the new items that have caught your eye. Thanks for stopping by!
