Pages with Papertrey #15 sketch

First, I want to wish my readers a very Happy Easter. I hope you get to spend some time with family and friends.

As promised, I am back again today to share a layout for my son's baby album. This time I played along with Pages with Papertrey #15 sketch which is from PageMaps.

The patterned paper, sticker, rub-on and chipboard are from the Becky Higgins Sweet Baby kit. I used some Papertrey Ink Orange Zest saddle stitch ribbon, Star Prints and Angled Labels for the rest of the embellishments. This was a great sketch to include many photos. Thanks Leigh!

Pages with Papertrey #10

Three cheers for finally getting this post up! Hip, hip, hooray!!! We are already 3 months into the new year and I had high hopes I would stay on track with my goal to finish my son's baby album before he turns two in July. I need to complete 2-3 layouts a month to accomplish this goal. January- check, February- this month is just too short, March- *insert crickets chirping*.  I actually completed this page at the beginning of the month, I just haven't found the time to post it. So without further ado, my page.

The challenge for Pages with Papertrey #10 is to add an interactive element to your page. I knew instantly that I wanted to add some pull out journaling. When my son turned 6 months old, there were quite a few milestones to document, so hidden journaling allowed me to add many photos to my page. He started solids and also had some major surgery.

I found a sketch from PageMaps to use, but changed it up a smidge. The papers, except the Kraft, are from the Becky Higgins Sweet Baby kit. The stickers and scallop border are also from the kit. I used my PTI Super Star border and Limitless Circles. I die cut my title using my Silhouette. The font is used is called Lobster. I just love that font! It is a beautiful, bold cursive.

Since the journal card was going to be placed behind some photos, I opted to pop the photo up on some foam tape.

Here is the card. You might notice the strip of paper that doesn't match the rest of the card. Well, when I was nearly done writing, a huge blob of ink rolled off my pen and *splat* right onto the card. So I opted to just cover it up with some paper since it stays hidden on the layout.

Here is the ink spot for your viewing pleasure.

Stay tuned to the blog tomorrow for the page that is opposite this layout in the album. Thanks for stopping by!

CAS-ual Fridays, Happy Easter!

Hi friends! Easter is just around the corner. Are you ready? Have you been busy dyeing eggs or filling plastic ones with candy? That is what my kiddos will be doing this weekend. Fingers crossed that the spills will be kept to a minimum. One can hope, right?

Well today's project is for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge. Create a clean and simple Easter project and it cannot be a card. This week's sponsor is Timeless Twine. The winner of this week's challenge will win an awesome prize package.

For my project, I chose to use a free cut file from Jin Yong's Under a Cherry Tree. It is her Pâtisserie Box and I absolutely love it. This file happens to be the very first thing I ever cut with my Silhouette. The assembly is such a breeze and does not even require any adhesive. The inked up Flower Bloom from DeNami Design. I created my own cut file in my Silhouette studio so I did not have to fussy cut it. Love that! You will be seeing more of this flower on the blog in the distant future. I colored it in with copics and attached it to the box. I added some cardstock that was impressed with Papertrey Ink's linen/canvas plate for the grass. The sentiment is also from Papertrey Ink.

And are you wondering what treat may be inside?

A delicious Cadbury egg, of course!

Thanks for stopping by! You have until noon on Thursday to link up and play. I hope you have a blessed Easter holiday!

DeNami Design, Flower Box Window

The design team is showcasing Flower Box Window by having a DeNami blog hop. You should've arrived to my blog from Lisa Petrella's blog. If you visit each design team members blog and leave a comment along the way, you will be eligible to win this stamp! You can also add this fabulous stamp to your shopping cart and save 10%, one week only.

For my card I inked up Flower box window and Thinking of You script (cling) onto some White cardstock. I made some flowers using some Papertey Ink felt and a tutorial by Betsy Veldman. I also impressed my cardbase with my woodgrain impression plate, but unfortunately is it not noticeable in the photo. It is super pretty in real life. I colored in the window frame and flower box using my copic C0. I think this card pretty much exemplifies me...clean and simple.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment on each blog to be eligible to win!

PTI March blog hop

Hi friends! The PTI March blog hop snuck up on me yesterday. I didn't know what the challenge was until I saw it in my reader. I couldn't miss out on using sequins!!!
So I stopped off at Michaels after church, ran some errands and my little girl and I got crafty at *gulp* 5pm. She knew exactly what she wanted to do to create her card. I, on the other hand, couldn't create under pressure and the fading daylight. I ended up created a simple tag using Fillable Frames #1. I just love how it fits perfectly onto the double ended banners die cut. I added some washi from DeNami Design, my sequins and some New Leaf saddle stitch ribbon and called it done. I really wanted to create a shaker card, but time just didn't allow it. Now that I have a 4 ounce bag of sequins, I must find the time to make my first shaker card.

My daughter went to town with her sequins and created a border. She was so cute using her glue stick. I was so proud of her. She really, really wanted to create a card for this challenge. Boy do I love crafting with her and spending time with her. I have a lot to learn from her little creative brain.

Here was the gorgeous inspiration photo. So pretty!!! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

CAS-ual Fridays, Hooray!

Today, I have a card to share with you that my 5 year old daughter, Leah, created for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge. When I opened up my product sponsor kit, my daughter fell in love with the stickers. She was immediately drawn to the Patriotic sticker page and the flag image. She wanted to use some glitter strips. I only helped her by tearing the score tape so she could lay it down onto her card.

I am pretty proud of her for keeping her creation CAS. Thanks for stopping by!

CAS-ual Fridays, No Stamps!!!

Happy Friday, friends! Today I have a card to share with you for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge. The challenge is to create a clean and simple project without using stamps!!! Take a deep breath. You can use die cuts, stickers, etc. Just do not use any stamps.

Our fabulous sponsor this week is SRM stickers. The winner this week will win a fantastic prize that will simply knock your socks off!!!

For my card, I spritzed my cardbase with some Mister Huey, Dewey. I used some border stickers from our sponsor and some DeNami washi tape. The hello diecut was the positive that left over from my Love song card. I love being able to use leftovers. I finished it off with some buttons.

Remember, you have until noon on Thursday to link up and play. I can't wait to see what you create!

DeNami Chickies have been spotted!!!

As you may know, DeNami Design  is celebrating being in the stamping industry for 24 years. The most recent blog hop was a birthday celebration. My daughter, Leah, and I created some birthday cards for the occasion.

For my card, I inked up Happy Birthday script (cling) in a rainbow of colors. I tied a knot with some Red grosgrain ribbon.

Leah wanted me to die cut a large number 24 for her card. She also wanted some strips of glitter on her card. She inked up Chickie long legs, Happy Birthday script (cling) and Hatching Chickie border. I showed her how to carefully use my copics and then let her color all on her own. With purple and pink being her favorite colors, her card would not be complete without a hot pink bow. I used my kraft knife to cut a small opening in the spine of the card to be able to tie it around the front of the card.

As the title of my post states "DeNami chickies have been spotted!" That's right, DeNami chickies have been spotted in my own back yard. Well, they were actually spotted at the playground in my neighborhood.

Thinking of You

Hello friends! I am popping in with a quick card that I made using some DeNami yumminess. I have been on a Mister Huey spritzing craze lately, so I used it on my card today.

The cardbase was spritzed with some Mister Huey Clay. I inked up Large Butterfly (cling) and colored it in with my copics. I added Thinking of You for my sentiment. That's all for today. Have a good one!

CAS-ual Fridays, Chipboard

TGIF!!!! I hope you had a fabulous week. This one was a busy one for me at work, so I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Is there really such a thing when you have little ones running around your house? Hmmm...sort of.

Today I have a card to share with you for this week's CAS-ual Fridays Challenge. The challenge this week is to create a clean and simple project using chipboard. Even if you do not have any chipboard in your stash, you can create your own.

Our fabulous sponsor this week is none other than CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. The winner of this week's challenge will win a $20 gift certificate.

Although I do have some chipboard in my stash, I wanted to make a birthday card for my brother-in-law using stars, so I created my own chipboard stars. I used a Papertrey Ink Make-it-Monday tutorial. I used some PTI coaster and die cut two layers of the stars before adhering my cardstock on top. For one star I inked up CAS-ual Fridays stamp set, Rad. The other I used some patterned paper from PTI. The sentiment is also from Rad. The twine is from The Twinery, the green washi is from DeNami Design, and the black washi is K&Company from their Smash book collection. The cardbase was first spritzed with some Mister Huey Clay before the card assembly began.

Here is another angle of the chipboard stars.

For a friend

Hello friends! I hope you are having a good week so far. I am just popping in with a quick card that I made back in January that I never shared. I love a good sketch and hate to pass them up. With life keeping me so busy, I rarely get to participate in challenges, but I certainly use them for inspiration. I created it based on this sketch by Laurie Willison over at Retro Sketches.

I gave this card to a co-worker of mine that suddenly had a seizure at work. I work in a medical setting, and the right people were all in the right place at the right time to care for her and keep her safe during this frightening event. She has gone through several tests and it was determined to be a side effect from a medication that she is taking. Our greatest fear was that it was a brain tumor and we are so thankful that was not the cause. She has returned to work and is doing very well.

That's it for me today. I will be back later this week for my CAS-ual Friday post.

 Happy Birthday DeNami Design!!!

For my birthday card and treat bag, I inked up Brushed Present. I stamped it onto some Leaf Green cardstock and onto some patterned paper from my Watermelon sampler pack. I paper pieced them together. I used Happy Birthday script (cling) for my sentiment which I stamped onto Celery cardstock. For my bow, I used some Hot Pink grosgrain ribbon. I used a tutorial by Aimes to create my small bow. For my treat bag, I cut out Small gift bag and filled it with a box of Nerds and some Iridescent shreds and closed it off with ribbon.

Your next stop along the hop is Ruza. I know you will not be disappointed with what she has to share.

CAS-ual Fridays, Color blocks

Happy Friday friends! It's the end of the week and I have a card to share with you for this week's CAS-ual Fridays Challenge. The challenge this week is to create a clean and simple project using blocks of color. You can use cardstock, ink, etc. If you are feeling a bit stumped, you can use Michele's snazzy challenge badge for inspiration.

Our sponsor this week is CutCardStock.com. The winner this week will earn a $25 gift certificate.

For my card, I chose to use blocks of cardstock. I was inspired by this first card of Cristina's from the latest Papertrey Ink release. I used my Happy die from PTI's Pretty Peonies and die cut some DeNami white cardstock. I love the subtle texture of this cardstock. I cut 1/4in pieces of cardstock and adhered them to a piece of scratch cardstock and then topped it with my diecut sentiment. After attaching it to my cardbase, I heat embossed the rest of the sentiment. My hubby and I will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary in 1 month, so this card is for him.

Don't forget that you have until noon on Thursday to link up and play. I can't wait to see what you create!

DeNami Pin-spired, March

Hi friends and welcome to this week's DeNami Pin-spired blog post. Twice a month, you will get to see the DeNami design team share projects that they have created from inspirational photos from Pinterest. Here is this week's yummy photo below? Anybody want some cake?

I was inspired by the many shades of green. Although I tried to create my card with multiple shades, I ended up only using two. The inside of the cake screamed chevrons to me, so I inked up Modern Borders set (cling). I die cut some white cardstock and stamped Thinking of You. I added a glittered button that was never used on another project that I tied on a silk bow.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to stop by the DeNami blog to see what the rest of the design team has created.

CAS-ual Fridays, Wallpaper

Happy Friday, friends!! I have had a super busy week with work, so I am definitely looking forward to a little rest this weekend.  The first card that I have to share today is for  CAS-ual Fridays. The challenge this week is to create your own custom background.

Our sponsor this week is Ellen Hutson. The winner this week will earn an $25 gift certificate.

For my card, I created a distresses background by inking up the polka dot image from CAS-ual Fridays stamp set, Only You. I lightly inked and lightly stamped off to create the effect. The sentiment is from Beanstalks, and the hearts were left over from another project that I die cut using my silhouette. I added some washi and twine to finish off the card.

Thanks for stoppping by! You have until noon on Thursday to link up and play. I can't wait to see what you create!
