A day of remembrance and celebration

Hello friends. Today is the 11th anniversary of the World Trade Center tragedy. For many of us, that means we will most likely be glued to the television watching recaps of the tragedy, remembering exactly where we were as the events unfolded. Thank you to all of the heros that day, that saved the lives of many.

Today also happens to be my husband's birthday. For us this day has many mixed emotions. We show respect for those affected by the events of 9/11, but we also celebrate.

As I perused blog land the other day, I saw the challenge over at Runway Inspired Challenge. This is my first time playing along. As a CAS girl, I love those clean graphic lines, perfect for my hubby's card. Since we are both graduates from the University of Florida, I just had to participate with the orange and blue colors.

I trimmed out some squares and adhered them to my card front. Then I used Solid Block Border from DeNami to create my panel. I heat embossed the sentiment from PTI's Birthday Basics in white and attached that to the panel. This also plays along with the fabulous sketch over at Retro Sketches. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Definitely a day of remembrance, it is hard to believe that it has been 11 year. You celebrate life as respect to those who lost their lives--Happy Birthday to your husband. Absolutely fantastic masculine card.
